形態特徵

Plants 20-50 cm tall. Rhizomes obscure. Root ca. 4 mm in diam. Pseudobulbs tufted, ovoid-globose, 1.5-2 cm long, 3-4 nodose.
Leaves 3-6, oblanceolate to linear, 7-30 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, slightly wavy or crisped; petiole 3-4 cm long, canaliculate.
Scapes erect, slender, 30-40 cm long, with few scales below, glabrous or sparsely short pubescent; flower bearing portion ca. 10 cm long; bracts lanceolate, 10-15 mm long; pedicel and ovary 2-2.4 cm long, shortly pubescent. Flowers light purple to purple, ca. 2 cm in diam., with more or less reflexed sepals; sepals ovate-lanceolate, 1.2-2 cm long, 5-7 mm wide, acuminate at apex, contracted at base; lateral ones similar but slightly oblique; petals oblong-linear, 1.3-1.6 cm long, 3 mm wide, often revolute; lip connate with column at base, spurless, 1.2-1.5 cm long, 3-lobed, lateral lobes ovate-triangular or falcate-rectangular, 4 mm long, entire or irregularly denticulate, terminal lobe obtriangular-ovate, clawed flabellate or cuneate-obovate, 1 cm long, apex truncate, sometimes shortly caudate at tip, entire, slightly undulate or denticulate; column 5 mm long, white or tinged with purple, with a large basal cavity which is partly sheltered by a fleshy ridged wall in front, with 2 winglike appendages above cavity; anther ovate-lanceolate in outline; pollinia yellowish white, clavate, 2 mm long, with slender caudicles cohering in 2 groups, viscidium small, deltoid; stigma single; rostellum small, bifid.

台灣 : in forests, at 1,300 to 2,500 m, throughout the island.
世界 : Northwest Himalaya, India, eastward to China and Japan.
